Clubs

Storm Chasers Scent Hurdle Club

Scent hurdle is a fast-paced team relay that combines the agility of flyball with the precision of scent work. Four dogs per team race over hurdles to a box where they must use their noses to pick out one specific dumbbell scented by their handler from a group of decoys. Once the correct item is found, the dog returns over the hurdles to release the next teammate.

The sport is a mental challenge, requiring dogs to stay focused on a “search and find” task while in a high-adrenaline racing environment. Governed by the Canadian Scent Hurdle Racing Association (CSHRA), jump heights are adjusted based on the smallest dog on the team to keep the competition fair for all breeds.

Storm Chasers uses the Skybound facility for practices and trials. If you want more information about Storm Chasers, please contact Mikayla Ironside, the owner of Ironside Agility.
